It’s an exciting week this week, beautiful! I’m officially halfway through my Institute for Integrative Nutrition studies, yippee!

It’s been an incredible journey so far and every week has lit my heart on fire with inspiration as to just how incredible our health – and lives – can be.

So the big question is – if you’re already eating whole fruits, vegetables and grains, how can you step it up a notch? How you can you take charge of your health and really get your sparkle on?

Here are a few of the tips I’ve learnt for bringing more health to your everyday.

Let the wellness begin!

1. Restore hydration and balance

Drink filtered water first thing in the morning – and lots of it!

Feeling less than 100%? Try adding a pinch or so of Pure Sea Salt (never table salt!) to a glass of warm, filtered water if you’re feeling especially run-down or suffering from hayfever or allergies. Pure sea salt can help to restore balance in the body and has been used as a health tonic for centuries.

2. Boost Energy

Drink green juice. Preferably a mix that is light on fruit and with a celery base, which makes it the perfect antidote to any less-than-great food choices.

Want to increase the detoxification? Try adding Wheatgrass, Spirulina, Chlorella or Blue-Green Algae for intense liver and blood purification.

3. Eat Black Foods

‘Eat the rainbow’ to supply essential phytonutrients, and especially look for black foods, which are rich in Zinc and powerful antioxidant, Resveratrol.

Choose the darkest colour option of food available – think black sesame seeds, quinoa, chia seeds, seaweed, grapes, maca, olives and rice.

4. Reconnect with the Earth’s Energy

Known as ‘Earthing’ (or ‘Grounding’), walking barefoot on grass or sand can naturally discharge stress and anxiety and restore feelings of wellbeing.

What better excuse do you need to kick your shoes off and walk/skip/dance through the park?

5. Grow your own SuperFoods

Why not try getting your green thumb friendlier with the likes of Asparagus Root, Ginseng, Kale, Wheatgrass, Goji or Shisandra Berries in your own garden?

Zero food miles, low cost, and super fresh!

6. Build Health for Tomorrow

Drink or eat superfood/superherb combos for lasting health and longevity. Think Blueberries, Hemp Seeds, Maca, Lucuma, Mesquite, and Mushrooms (reishi, chaga, shiitake, cordyceps, trametes).

Blend them with Raw Cacao to make delicious elixir Smoothies or Hot Chocolates.

And most importantly…

Do what you can, try everything once, and figure out what works for you. Remember that great health is a journey, not a destination. Have fun with it. Have fun in general!

Dance, laugh, live, love, sing and play. Make every day sparkle!
xx
