How great are phone chats with old friends? One of my gorgeous girlfriends called this morning and reminded me to hurry up and post a few of my favourite juice recipes. And where better to start than with green?
The first time I ever tried celery juice was after immediately after watching an Institute for Integrative Nutrition lecture by legendary raw foodist, David Wolfe, who declared it an incredibly powerful alkaliser. If I recall correctly, I had overindulged a little in champagne and vegan party food the day before (oops!) and I needed a magical boost.
Quick! To the juicermobile!
I’m a huge fan of lemon and ginger in all of my juices but my lovebug prefers an apple, so we decided to throw them all in (as well as half a gorgeous yellow beet we found at the farmers market) and hope for the best. Eight crossed fingers and a whizz bang later, we had two large glasses of incredibly delicious and healthy juice.
If you’re new to green juices, have fun experimenting with your favourite green veggies – think zucchini, cucumber, kale, and spinach, and herbs like parsley or coriander/cilantro.
Any combo you choose is guaranteed to make you feel amazing.
Sparkle on, beautiful! xx

June 5, 2013 at 4:51 am (11 years ago)What a beautiful colour green! How long can you keep all of those glasses in the fridge for? Or do they not last long enough to worry about?!

June 5, 2013 at 11:23 am (11 years ago)It’s best to drink them straight away, Joey, or transfer the juice to an air-tight glass jar or bottle, keep refrigerated, and drink within 24 hours. 🙂
