I don’t know about you, but after I’ve spent an amazing night at an incredible concert, singing and dancing under the stars with friends, while the likes of Lior, Paul Dempsey and Sarah Blasko belt out the songs of Tim and Neil Finn, I get the munchies big time!

I had stayed the night with friends Jac and Amanda, and when we couldn’t convince Jac (or any of our other friends via text message) to bring food to us the next morning, Amanda and I decided we’d just have to go in search of it ourselves!  Luckily for us, Amanda lives in Mt Lawley and there’s a new kid in town and he’s vegetarian, funky and delicious!

Veggie Mamahas an amazing selection of fresh, healthy vegetarian food that I haven’t seen in Perth up until now.  Got allergies?  Veggie Mama has you covered.  All of their food is labelled with egg, dairy, and gluten free, which also makes it a dream for vegans!   Hurray!

The staff were friendly, welcoming and very patient when we took forever to choose between all of their amazing dishes.  In the end, Amanda (a non-vegan) chose the spinach quiche and salad, while I had a curried vegetable filo parcel with salad, and we both agreed that our meals were perfectly scrumptious!  Veggie Mama also offer freshly squeezed juices and my carrot and lemon juice was the perfect medicine to soothe the slight headache from too much fun the night before.

All up, we loved this place and vowed to return again ASAP.  Later I found out that Amanda had loved it so much, she also went back there again that very night for a stuffed zucchini dinner!!  NOM!!

UPDATE 15/05/12: We went back for brunch on the weekend and chose the Mediterranean Toasted Sandwich (minus feta).  Seriously delicious!

Ah, how do I love Veggie Mama. Let me count the ways. You’ve got to try the veggie slice, it’s vegan. And amazing. LOVE IT THERE. Wish it was a tad cheaper, but I’ll keep going.

Have also had the mushroom, walnut & quinoa patty. Yum! x

OH! I don’t think I saw the cakes! I’ll have to return and check them out. All in the name of research, of course… 🙂

I’ve loved these guys’ salads and filo parcels-of-deliciosuness since they were serving it up at the Tempting Thyme cafe inside Mt Lawley Wholefoods! When that closed up I had a minor breakdown, but was OVERJOYED to see them open up Veggie Mama in Mt Lawley – especially now that they do dinner open times Wed-Fridays too!
